MySpaceBring Me the Horizon (or BMTH as often referred to) is a deathcore band from Sheffield, Yorkshire. The band formed in the year 2004 from members of other bands within their local area. Matt Nicholls left band Tache Noir to start the band up with Oliver Sykes, Curtis Ward and the rest of the band. Matt Nicholls and Oliver Sykes became friends through meeting at the kids corporation aged 15 and later met Curtis, Lee and Matt at college. They have incorporated elements of death metal and metalcore, resulting in their genre best being described as deathcore[1] into their sound on their debut album "Count Your Blessings" which was released October 30th 2006. They are currently signed to the label Visible Noise Records and are currently supporting Killswitch Engage on their tour. They have recently finished a UK tour supporting their new album with Centurion and penknifelovelife (Abigail Williams were on the tour originally but had to leave when their drummer sustained a wrist injury), they have even more recently finished touring with Lostprophets and finished touring, in early February 2007, with Killswitch Engage. They have confirmed their headlining UK tour, supported by I Killed The Prom Queen as the end of March to the beginning of April. To the surprise of many of their fans, however, they are not doing a hometown gig. Instead the nearest gig to their hometown of Sheffield, is Manchester around one hour, by car, away. However, they confirmed an extra date after the initial few at a venue called Rios in Leeds (15th April 07). Many fans did not know anything about this venue, as it is a new venue said to be replacing the Bradford Rios. They are also confirmed to be playing Download Festival 2007 in June also with Iron Maiden, My Chemical Romance and others.
