BTW Some Review:
Like A Pack Of Frenzied Tasmanian Devils The Third Offering From Sweden's NASUM Will Destroy Everything In Sight Leaving Only Mangled Remains In Its Wake. If You Can Actually Imagine What A Pack Of Frenzied Tasmanian Devils Looks Like, You Have A Good Idea What This Music Is About. You Guessed It, A Full-on Grindcore Assault Of The Best Kind.
But This Is No Usual Grind, No. I Mean It Does Make My Ears Plead For Mercy And Trying To Headbang To This Is Like Watching A Sewing Machine's Needle Go Up And Down On Hyper Speed. It Is All That, But At The Same Time NASUM Manages To Make The Whole Concept Groovy And The Songs Do Actually Slow Down Once In A While. The Song "Scoop" Alone Has All Those Elements. Adding Some Little Things Here And There, Like The Spoken Part In The Beginning Of "Stormshield", The Few Swedish Words I Can't Quite Make Out On "Just Another Hog" And The Various Gun Sounds Only Make This An Even More Pleasuring Experience. There's Also A Notable Death Metal Touch Of The Swedish Kind On Some Songs, Like On "Preview Of Hell" Or "Breach Of Integrity", Which Sounds A Lot Like THE HAUNTED But Some Of The Guitar Lines Also Bring AMON AMARTH's "Where Silent Gods Stand Guard" To My Mind For Some Not So Obvious Reasons.
The Lyrics Also Differ From Your Friendly Neighbourhood Grindcore Band. Political To An Extent, The Lyrics Are Full Of Unfriendly Attitude Dealing With Exploitation, War And Such In Some Songs Whereas Cursing Nazis, Neo-liberals, Greedy Rip-offs And Co. In "We Curse You All". I Could Swear That "Bullshit" Is The Band's Opinion About George Bush And The War In Afghanistan And Iraq.
Topping Their Debut And Even The Brilliant "Human 2.0" "Helvete" Fortifies NASUM's Position As Being The Number One Grindcore Band Out There And Will Undoubtedly Be THE Best Grind Feast Of 2003 Unless Something Really Odd Happens. Totally Recommended For Genre Freaks But Worth A Listen For Fans Of Death Metal Alike. (Online June 30, 2003)
