Unquestionably a highly refined balance of cunning metalcore meets noise mastery is struck on this release, with the band oddly enough playing out their melodic tendencies with surprisingly brash throated harmonies. This in itself is a welcome change, as it would seem that 90% of today's acts in this spectrum of music instead opt for contrived clean-cut emo styled singing. But when you also factor in the groups experiments with uncommon effects and atmospheric noise, the songs really begin to grab the listeners attention and stick out like a much welcomed sore thumb amongst their peers.
