The genesis of Raising Water by Fire can be
roughly traced to the summer of 2002, when Adam,
Jon and Jeff first began jamming in northern
Virginia. They wrote and experimented with a
variety of different styles and songs until
2004, when they finally settled on their current
sound. After a bit of rearranging of the duties
in the band to best utilize their individual
talents (Jeff from drums to guitar, Jon from
guitar/vocals to bass), they began searching for
other members.
Matt (of Krvnk, Chapter VIII) joined on vocals
in early 2005 and soon after, in May of 2005
Alex (also of Krvnk, Chapter VIII) joined on
drums. With Adam (guitar), Jeff (guitar) and Jon
(bass), the band was for the first time
complete.
Raising Water by Fire has been diligently
working on a vast cacophony of sound, and are
now playing shows in the DC Metro area now that
the output is refined.
